2017 INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY THEME

WE AND PARTNER THEME: WOMEN AT WORK

On March 8, Women in ETFs held their 3rd Annual Global Bell Ringing Events for International Women’s Day and 'Rang the Bell for Gender Equality' at Nasdaq for the closing bell.

Approximately 40 individuals from WE, the UN Global Compact, the IFC and our 'Ring the Bell for Gender Equality' partners gathered at Nasdaq MarketSite for networking and the closing bell ceremony. Introduced by Karin McKinnell, Senior Managing Director at Nasdaq, Jill Mavro, Co-President of Women in ETFs and Senior Managing Director at State Street Global Advisors, welcomed guests with enthusiasm and inspired us to take action to be fearless, be bold and inspire change in the workplace. Lise Kingo, CEO & Executive Director of the UN Global Compact, called on us to celebrate the role of women in business and encouraged all business and organizations to sign the Women Empowerment Principals (http://www.weprinciples.org/).

After Jill and Lise led the group in ringing the closing bell, we moved outside on a beautiful NYC afternoon and felt tremendous pride as we watched our Ring the Bell for Gender Equality celebration broadcast on the Nasdaq Tower and Nasdaq Marquee in Times Square.
